"When considering artists for a solo show in our Gallery in Houston, Papou was a natural choice. Her affinity for large-scale works makes her an ideal fit for our 5,000 square foot gallery space. The concept of a residency along the coast emerged as I envisioned a narrative journey that both tells a story and creates an immersive artistic experience. Partnering with the stunning Hotel Lucine in Galveston, we aim to connect our two cities by supporting one another and showcasing the collaborative art between us. This residency at Hotel Lucine not only reduces the logistical challenges of shipping large-scale artworks but also provides Papou with an inspiring coastal backdrop to influence her creations."
